Poetry Reading: It's Happy Time

Here are some poetry I used to teach my students last month. I think it was great to be used for junior high school.

The Happiest!

Mother gives me love and care
Father shows me how to fare
Friends give me joy and fun
Uncles buy me toys that run

Granny tells me tales at night
Brother spares his bike and kite
Sister plays some tricks that please
Teachers help me learn with ease
I am the happiest you can see
To have them all here with me

Or, this one...

Color Me Happy!

If I were the color blue,
I'd sing sad songs for you.

If I were the color yellow,
I'd be a happy fellow.

If I were the color red
I'd look like me when I bled.

If I were the color green,
I'd grow like a big string bean.

If I were the color brown,
I'd be a chocolate town.

If I were the color pink,
I'd be a lemony drink.

If I were the color purple,
Nothing would rhyme with me.
